Can you prevent hawkes mother from dying
While Gamlen grew to resent their parents' favoritism, the siblings adored each other. They met the next summer at the comte's country estate. Gamlen helped them sneak out to the balcony to talk in private when he noticed the way his sister looked at Malcolm.
Malcolm and Leandra continued to meet in secret over the next few months, with Gamlen's continued assistance. When Leandra realized she was pregnant, they decided to run away together, and wed in secret. By the time Malcolm managed to escape the Gallows and find a ship willing to take them to Ferelden, Leandra's parents had discovered her pregnancy. Furious that his daughter had chosen a mage, Lord Aristide sent men in pursuit of Malcolm.
Before he left for the Vimmark Mountains , he sent Leandra a message, telling her that they would be free when he returned. When Malcolm returned to Kirkwall with a Grey Warden escort, Lord Aristide told his daughter to choose between her family or Malcolm, saying that everything would be forgiven if she chose to renounce her apostate lover. Leandra chose Malcolm; Lord Aristide disowned her. Her mother refused to see Leandra before she left.
Malcolm and Leandra left for Ferelden that night. They settled in a small village near Amaranthine for a time, where Malcolm worked as a farmhand and Leandra as a seamstress. Their first child, Hawke , was born a few months later. They were forced to move often to avoid being captured by templars.
Leandra's mother died of cholera around ; Lord Aristide followed her a year later. As Leandra had recently given birth to twins, Bethany named after Lady Bethann and Carver , she was unable to attend the funeral.
I had thought that he would end up being the guy, as well, and I kicked myself for letting him go at first until we fought and I saw the different names LadyBri Status: Offline.

But losing Bethany was hard on me. I figured that was enough. Once we lost Leandra, I thought the "losing family" bit became totally overused.
There is no happy ending for Hawke. There is peace, if chosen correctly, that finds them back in Kirkwall with their best friend Varric, or there is certain death. There is a trail paved with death, murder, accusations. Feelings of "did I do enough? Templar war that saw thousands killed and millions affected. What makes Hawke so special to me, which is something I've talked about previously when exploring the hidden perfection within Dragon Age 2 , is that their story is far from perfect.
They are flawed. Confused, fearful, determined. Even with all of the support they find, even with all of the determination to do what is right and to be there for those they care about, it is always just shy of enough. Each misstep leaves a lasting scar, because Hawke was never meant to live happily ever after. That's not real life. Some of us just have to be content with finding peace where we can and come to terms with the cards we've been dealt.

During one of Fenris's companions quests, A Bitter Pill , you also encounter an elven slave, named Orana, who just watched her father get murdered and was now lost and wondering around an abandoned slaver's den.
You get the option to tell her to go to Kirkwall where you'll pay her to work for you and give her lodging, and Hawke does so, knowing that any other action would just end up with her getting mugged on the streets due to pure naivety. All in all, Hawke is a good person--really. It just so happens to be that she's also a highly infuriating person who enjoys getting a rise out of others. Whether or not she desired it, she ended up being the catalyst for an impending war between the mages and Templars and, well, she's certainly not going to be the type to sit around twiddling her thumbs and saying oh noooo.
She will get things done, and she will get them done right. Samples; Network Sample; [Video feed on. Video feed off. Video feed on. She seems rather decided on jabbing her hand through the hologram over and over again while cocking a brow at the whole thing. What merry entourage should I expect this time? Carta assassins? Crazy blood mages? Vengeful Chantry sisters? Rolling Orlesians cheeses of despair? Perhaps I ought to invite these gods over for tea so we can discuss this more thoroughly.
The depressing doom and gloom look in this place isn't as cuddly and inviting as I'd expect for "honored guests". Log Sample; It was just another average day in the life of Marian Hawke. Waking up during the wee hours of the morning to the sound of the neighbors making up again , taking the dog out for a walk, reading letter after letter of invitations of proper little fancy dinner parties, and getting attacked on her way home by another group of either very confident or very suicidal assassins.
It was a terribly slow day, that was for certain, but it was still average according to the normal consensus. She really had to wonder sometimes what went through the minds of people who tried to attack her, even if she was alone in the middle of Darktown.
Perhaps they were jealous of her good hair? Her stunning wit? Her talent for juggling large rodents while standing on top of a dragon and simultaneously describing Andraste's dimpled buttcheeks in scandalous detail? The real answer was up for much debate, but it didn't make it any less ridiculous and suicidal. Maybe next time she becomes the Champion of a city she should strike a dramatic pose after defeating one of their greatest threats in one-to-one combat.
Surely if she did that she would get the point across that dealing with these every day assassination attempts was just like eating pancakes for breakfast to her. Completely and utterly lacking in any challenge or significant danger to herself. The leader of the group of assassins keeps rambling on and on about how she and her companions had killed someone of apparently great importance to her.
A brother, an uncle, a father, a something. She swears she's heard this very same monologue before, or maybe not. It's so hard to remember every single assassin that comes after her for killing a relative of theirs--just as hard as it was to remember what relative she killed exactly. How was she supposed to know what a what's-his-name was anyway?
