What is the difference between paranormal activity 4 and the unrated version

When the unrated edition of "Paranormal Activity 4," last year's entry into the found footage series, hits Blu-ray and DVD on January 29, it will come packaged with almost 30 minutes of "raw, unedited activity," being called the Recovered Files for the home video release. As a part of the lead-up to the release, MTV News brings you the very first look at one of the Recovered Files, a lengthy sequence featuring Kathryn Newton as Alex, the heroine of the latest demonic hauntings.

In the clip, things start to get a little creepy in Alex's house when she and her friends notice some odd goings-on. Having arrived, he lifts the hand of the scarecrow and says it wasn't real. Then Ben reaches for the candy he managed to get a piece after all. He wants to talk to the cat about Alex. Apparently, she's not in the mood and leaves. Change of scenery: Alex - meanwhile in a fariy costume - and Ben intend to go to a party. Before they hit the road, her dad wants to know where the rest of her costume was.

They laugh, then Alex and Ben leave. Outside, Ben asks Alex if he was her best friend. She confirms it and they keep walking down the street. At the house of the new neighbors, they notice lil Robbie standing at the window.

Although the four Paranormal movies were released sequentially, there is much time-jumping between them. For example, PA 2 begins two months before the events depicted in PA and provides an explanation of the aftermath of both. Consequently, the first three movies can be watched either sequentially or chronologically.

It makes no difference. The only references to the first three movies are in the opening scenes when it shows Katie playing with baby Hunter and then abducting him from his crib and again at the end of the movie. Any other references made in PA 4 to people such as Toby and things such as the circle in the triangle that were introduced in the first three movies will go over the heads of a viewer who hasn't seen them first.

Therefore, it is strongly recommended that viewers see the first three movies before watching PA 4. Ben is using Xbox Kinect, which uses infrared in order to film in a dark room.
