I was with a few other people. On a break Dizzy was walking around and came by my table. I asked Dizzy for his autograph-which he gave me. A short time later someone at my table asked me to get another autograph from Dizzy for them. So the next time Dizzy came by I asked him for another autograph. OF course Dizzy was a great kidder so he said"Hey man,didn't I just give you my autograph" Of course, he happily gave it again to me.

Even though I didn't know him personally I know he was a great guy. By the way, I made my living most of my working life as a musician piano and trombone in Benjamin Franlin High School in NYC in and and then in a U S regimental army marching band in Japan for about a year from the end of to the end of I spent about 21 years playing around the NYC and Long Island area and from to the present in upstate New York although much less busy playing but still doing gigs whenever I can.
